Are you having a bonfire party at home or do you attend a large organised event?

Every year we seem to have more worrying stories of children injured by fireworks at home or on the streets.

Is it better to ban private firework sales to stop these accidents or is that unfair?  I was reading that the Fire Brigade say it is their busiest time of year.

The well organised events have become so big they do lose some of the old excitement.  The main aim of these events to have the largest, loudest fireworks they can find.  My children really don't like these huge events anymore as they just get frightened.   They are quite happy now with a sparkler, treacle toffee and watching fireworks from a long way away so easily pleased.

Are you happy for your older children to attend on their own?

Do you think we have lost the small intimate bonfire parties they had years ago.  Would you recommend a home bonfire party?   Are you frightened of buying your own fireworks - which do sometimes seem to have a mind of their own.

Do you have any bonfire recipes you would like to share?

Are you organising a bonfire event?  Let us know we will spread the word.

I have never been asked for bonfire party bags yet ... although there is still time I suppose.
